Have you come into agreement with faith?

Agreement is not something to be taken lightly. It is a powerful statement that we are making when we say that we are in agreement. To be in agreement with God’s Word is to say that we believe what His word declares to be true, and so we are aligning ourselves with that word. To me agreement means that I am holding fast to His truth and my life should reflect this acknowledgement.

When we come into agreement with faith we are not merely taking a verbal stand, but one where we are spiritually in compliance with what it means to walk out faith. It means that we are ready to allow the unseen to overlap in such a way that we are walking as if we see. We are believing that the unseen exists, and is actually more real than what we see with our physical eyes.

Being in agreement with faith means that circumstances can’t knock me out of that agreement. Certainly those events will try to do exactly this, but my agreement must be stronger. It is why the power of agreement is so significant in our lives.

This brings to mind the Scripture where Jesus says in Matthew 18:19, “Again, truly I tell you, if two of you on earth agree about any matter that you pray for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, I am there among them.”

What I love about this verse is that agreement brings Jesus. He is among us when we pray in agreement with God’s Word and we can expect to see those prayers answers. Our faith is in alignment with the faith of God.

I want to add one last thing. As I was looking up the Scripture in Matthew I came across a commentary that had a different perspective on what Jesus was actually saying. But, let me say that my agreement with God’s Word is literal and I don’t look for outside interpretations to try to reason why I believe what I believe. I take God’s Word for face value and nothing less.

Hebrews 11:6 CSB Now without faith it is impossible to please God, since the one who draws near to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who seek Him.
