Are you a promise land believer?

Last week a man of God from Australia was visiting our church. He has come before, and he consistently brings a word from the Lord. This visit was no exception and we were all blessed by his message. During the course of the evening he asked us, “Are you a promise land believer?” It is a good question and one that compels us to dig deep for answers.

When everyone around you is crumbling, even believers, are you still standing? When circumstances do everything to rob your peace, are you still standing? And when you feel like you will not make it through this next stage of testing, are you still standing?

The standing for me is not standing on my own strength, for my strength may fail me, but it is standing on the promises of God. In doing so, I need to remember how God described the promise land and apply it to my life.

A promise land believer must believe that they can overcome any opposition that comes against them, and that adversity is there to be defeated. God has already made this promise clear. When he told the Israelites to take the land it was meant to be a confirmation to them that He had already prepared the ground. It was good ground and it was their inheritance.

When we understand the value of being given an inheritance that will not fade nor will it tarnish, and most importantly that no man can take it away from us, then we will make choices that reflect that truth. And, when we make a decision that this will be our reality, we will see our life reflect this choice in a very dramatic way. The other key aspect of making this decision to walk in the abundance of inheritance is that others will be impacted by what they see.

Deuteronomy 31:8 CSB The Lord is the one who will go before you. He will be with you; He will not leave you or abandon you. Do not be afraid or discouraged.
