I think that when we read the above question the majority of us will think of the Book of Esther. We will consider this young woman and how God used her to save her people, who were God’s people.
Lately, I have heard many bring this phrase into their conversation, so I have started to listen. I believe that the Lord is speaking to us about the day and time we live, and our relevance in these days. What is not to be missed is how God will use a willing vessel that is sold out to Him to work in the Kingdom.
There is much to be done, and God is calling us to partner with Him to accomplish it. For this reason, I have felt an anticipation for what I believe is my portion. It is something that I don’t want to miss. When the time is right and I need to be looking up, I don’t want to realize that I am looking down. I need to stay focused and engaged in the moment.
Over the weekend our pastor gave an awesome message on running our race. He said that we are not to merely run our race, but we are to run it well! There certainly is a difference. In other words, it is not a time to just coast along and let the clock run out. We are to run our race as if we were carrying Jesus across the finish line.
Esther was challenged to step out and run a race that would have enormous consequences. Those consequences would determine much for the people of God who were living during that time. She made a choice to run the race that was set before her, a race that she did not just run, but she ran well.
For such a time as this should have us all at the starting line in anticipation of that gun, and ready to give it all we’ve got!
Esther 4:14 CSB “If you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance will come to the Jewish people from another place, but you and your father’s family will be destroyed. Who knows, perhaps you have come to your royal position for such a time as this.”
