We all have a voice, but we are not all called to speak the same words. Last night I was thinking of my voice and the message that is on my heart. It is a message that has been birthed by listening to what the Holy Spirit has been telling me for many years. It has been God’s voice of encouragement, as well as His promise to prosper me in my gifting, that has kept me moving forward. But, the most important element to my message is one of obedience. It is having the courage to step out, even when it is difficult to do so.
Each morning I receive a devotional from a pastor in Singapore, Malaysia. His is a message of grace. It is a message that was a mandate from God many years ago, and he very seldom strays from it. His life message is one that is exemplified throughout the Scriptures. The message of the unmerited gift of grace has the ability to transform lives, which is exactly what we should expect to see.
I recently had an opportunity to go back through some files with notes from retreats, women’s small groups, and personal journals. What I found was not unexpected. The common thread running through these notes was how to encourage women to be everything that God’s Word declares them to be. It was about worthiness, and it was about being fearless in the face of everything that the enemy does to tear us down. As I read over my writings I realized that my voice is getting stronger. The more I step out in that obedience, and exercise the message for women that the Lord has laid upon my heart, the more confident I become.
When we believe in what we are saying, and understand that what we are saying has value, then we will not hesitate to keep saying it! The more we get behind what God is doing through us, the more we can expect to see things happen. For when the Lord does something through us, He transforms it. God is all about putting His distinct signature, or voice, on the work that He is doing.
John 12:49 CSB “For I have not spoken on my own, but the Father Himself who sent me has given me a command to say everything I have said. I know that His command is eternal life. So the things that I speak I speak just as the Father has told Me.”
