I have a friend that takes parenting very seriously, and I applaud her efforts. She is someone to be admired for the position that she takes, and for how she brings that position forward for her children.
There has recently been a movie released that deals with the subject of abortion. I know that there has been much media attention around it, but as believing women we do not negotiate our position. In fact, last week I shared this in a post, as I rejoiced over the bill that was passed in Georgia protecting our most vulnerable.
Today’s message is about teaching our young how to navigate in such a world. It is often a world that urges them to make decisions based on half truths, or on lies. It is a world that often follows the path with the least resistance, and the one that happens to be trending.
Our responsibility must be to deliver the truth to our young people, so that they have all the facts when it comes to life and death situations. We cannot assume that they have it right, or that someone else has given them the godly answers that they need.
I read a quote yesterday that needs repeating. It said, “If we don’t teach our children to follow Christ, the world will teach them not to.”
Deuteronomy 6:5-9 CSB Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. These words that I am giving you today are to be in your heart. Repeat them to your children. Talk about them when you sit in your house and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Bind them as a sign on your hand and let them be a symbol on your forehead. Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.
