Who was the first born again from the dead?

Today is Resurrection Sunday, and so I had to say a small something, although it was far from a small something that Jesus did for us two thousand years ago.

I love chocolate, but it is not chocolate that puts a smile on my face today. It is knowing that I smile because I am a new creation, and I am this new creation because of Jesus. It is because the Father knew from the very foundation of the world that one day His Son would be hanging on a tree for me. Of course, not just me, but for you, too!

As parents we know what it is like to have a heavy heart when it comes to our children. When something is just not right we have a burden within us to see it right. I can’t begin to even imagine what it felt like for the Father to know that one day He would be turning away from His Son. A Son without sin, but the One who would take on sin for all mankind.

I grew up being taught that the Trinity exists of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. A triune God, three in one, and yet individual. It was the concept of this oneness that, although not easy to comprehend, became a natural part of my belief in God. For this reason, I was always grieved by the imagery of the Father having to forsake the Son when He became our sin, a price that only He could pay. A reparation that the Father demanded must be paid in order for atonement to take place.

I am grateful that I have been reconciled back to my heavenly Father, and yet I know that I can’t assume to understand the sacrifice that was made on my behalf. For my part, I must just praise God that I have been raised from the dead, that my old life is gone, and that I am the new creation that God always knew that I would become. Thank You, Father, Jesus, and precious Holy Spirit!

John 11:25 NKJV Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.

1 Peter 1:3-4 CSB Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Because of His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead and into an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you.

Are we moving forward to our yet unimaginable future?
