Are we moving forward to our yet unimaginable future?

God's word declares that we cannot comprehend what is waiting for us. In other words, what Jesus has prepared is so beyond what we can think or imagine. It is that good!

If you are like me, this is exciting news. It means that even our best days here on earth will ultimately pale in comparison to what awaits us in eternity.

However, even while we know this is true, somehow we must bridge the gap between then and now. Frankly, if we are not able to navigate this bridge, then we may walk out these earthly days in disappointment.

Have you ever given, or received, a gift that you felt was amazing only to see it fall short? It has happened to me, and it does leave you deflated. Sometimes worse is that now you are faced with how best to hide your disappointment, so as not to hurt the other person.

Thankfully, with maturity we usually see wisdom.  I still give gifts that I think will be appreciated, but I no longer attach myself to those gifts. It is more a give and release because telling a person how they should spend your gift is no gift!

Soon my husband and I will be leaving for the west where we will once again explore the beauty of the national parks. We are very similar in what we like, yet we often see things differently. He will look at landscapes with his artist/painter eye. We are individuals in our tastes, our preferences, but still we can appreciate God’s beauty and wonder together. I am not disappointed if he does not appreciate all that moves me, and it is the same for him.

One day,  we will walk where our present imagination cannot take us, but until that day we can appreciate all that this world has to offer knowing that it definitely doesn't end on this note!

1 Corinthians 2:9 CSB But as it is written, what no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no human heart has conceived-God has prepared these things for those who love Him.

Are you working for a greater purpose than what is obvious?
