Do you believe that every little bit counts?

I looked up the origin of the expression ‘every little bit counts’ and although I can’t pin point it exactly, I can tell you that it first appeared in the 1500’s. We really love expressions such as this one, and you will notice I even brought in another one when I used ‘pin point’.

Yesterday, I was very aware of how the little things that we do add up to something significant from God’s perspective. While we may not think that praying for a stranger will make a difference, I am here to say that it most certainly does. When we can join our faith with someone who is in need of a powerful move of God in their life it literally changes the atmosphere.

Several years ago I was suffering from a debilitating condition that lasted for seven years. During that time, I knew that there were people I didn’t even know who were praying for me. They were seeking God on my behalf, and although I never got to meet them, God knew who they were. He knew the intercessors that He had called to stand in prayer for me during that time, and He knew that they would be obedient to His call.

I clearly thought of my own personal situation when yesterday I prayed for a young woman outside of a coffee cafe, for a man who has been diagnosed with a life threatening illness, and for a woman and her child who are on the street.

What the Holy Spirit was clearly showing me was that every prayer counts, and every time we stand with someone, even someone we may never meet, we are interceding for them in obedience to God’s Word.

We may not think it is enough, but God will use the ‘little bit and make it count’, and this ‘we can take to the bank!’ In other words, it’s a sure thing. You get my drift, so I’ll stop now.

1 Peter 4:10-11 CSB Just as each one has received a gift, use it to serve others, as good stewards of the varied grace of God. If anyone speaks, let it be as one who speaks God’s words; if anyone serves, let it be from the strength God provides, so that God may be glorified through Christ Jesus in everything. To Him be the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen

Do our eyes see with childlike awe?

Is it time for a bit of an alteration?
