How do we have victory in every situation?

In reading Romans 8:16-17 it says, “The Spirit Himself testifies together with our spirit that we are God’s children, and if children, also heirs—heirs of God and coheirs with Christ—if indeed we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him.”

This Scripture gives me comfort and validation. Knowing that we are seated with Christ in the heavenly places means that when we see our victory through the eyes of Jesus our perspective should be heavenly centered, and not bound to the earth.

We must understand the Word of God and how it applies to everything we do, including every decision we make. This means that we stand victorious despite how a situation presents itself, when we stand in accordance with God’s Word.

When Jesus said that He came to give us life and life more abundantly, He was speaking of that abundance impacting our earthly life. So, for me I take that Scripture and apply its literal meaning to my life. When I insist upon applying God’s truth it really does change how I see and process what is happening around me. It is simply grabbing hold of heaven’s perspective.

The abundance that Jesus is talking about opens up our spiritual eyes to the unseen and brings them into focus. Then, from that place of focus we truly see our victory when we see ourselves seated with Christ, and ask ourselves “How is Jesus seeing what I am seeing?”

There are people that I know that need to see victory in their life. For one it is victory over a chronic condition that has become life changing, for another it is deep grief as she seeks to reconcile the death of a young brother, and yet for another it is both the physical and emotional attachment to a place she has know her entire life that she must now leave behind.

2 Kings 6:16-17 CSB Elisha said, “Don’t be afraid, for those who are with us outnumber those who are with them.” Then Elisha prayed, “Lord, please open his eyes and let him see.” So the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he saw that the mountain was covered with horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.
